Oh hello there!
You forgot about us didn’t you? It’s okay, I kind of forgot too. Well I didn’t really forget I kind of just let life get in the way. And somehow stopping for 10 or 15 minutes to post an update seemed like too daunting of a task to fit into my already packed schedule. Except that my schedule is not overly packed by any means. I just procrastinate doing things, and I’ve procrastinated for nearly 10 weeks on sitting my bottom down and typing out a few words. Honestly, I think its the picture part that I put off, and then I feel like if I don’t have a picture I can’t have a post. Well. Guess what?
I’m not going to post any pictures, I certainly have some I could throw in but I’m going to put some better composed post together this weekend to visually catch you up on both the ever growing baby & beard. So if you have no interest in reading on, I don’t blame you. I’ll see you (more you’ll see me) in a few days time.
So a little written catch up on the lives of the Mr & Mrs.
Unfortunately we wrapped up the majority of December, and consequently the year, with a perpetual colds. It started about 10 days out from Christmas and didn’t budge until around New Years. Brett was able to take some anti-biotics and stave the thing off pretty quickly, but seeing as how I am growing
an alien a mini human being, I couldn’t take them. So I tried different homeopathic remedies, non of which really worked but I probably wasn’t trying the right ones, and waited the thing out. Can I get a collective boo for the inability to take cold meds while pregnant? I mean I probably shouldn’t take them at all, but I love me some Day/Night Quil when I can’t make it through on my own. Oh well, pretty sure the bean is more then worth it!
That being said, we had a great Christmas. We were able to spend time with Brett’s parents and my mom and Mike and Sam on Christmas Day, and we celebrated with my dad and Christine and the rest of my siblings a few days later. Our growing little man was more then showered with love from every member of our family. It really is incredible to see all of the love and excitement that this kid will be coming into! He will be the first grandbaby on either side of our families, so the anticipation is mounting daily! Family is important to both of us, and this babe will not be lacking in that department in the least.
On December 30, we loaded up our car, kissed the pups, and headed to the airport with Brett’s parents and sister. We took a family trip to Austin, TX to visit Brett’s Great Uncle Robert and Aunt Deborah. We had an amazing trip and fell in love with Texas, which I’m not sure we were expecting! Austin is an incredible city and if you haven’t been GO!! If you follow either Brett or me on Instagram then you probably got a pretty good visual on our trip, but I will share some pictures later. It was really great getting to know his aunt and uncle more, and spending quality time with his family.
Since we’ve been home it’s been relatively quiet. My grandparents were down from Oregon for a few days and they were able to come to my last ultrasound appointment with my mom, it was really special to share that moment with the 3 of them! After that, I caught another head cold, which I think I am now clear of, cheered the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl (WOOHOOOO!!! Can’t wait for the Harbowl!), finished clearing out the nursery with my mom’s help(!!!!!!), and we are now prepping for the inside of our house to get painted on Friday hopefully!!
Speaking of Friday, the baby & beard will both be 24 weeks along then. It’s crazy to think that there’s less then 4 months left in this pregnancy. I can now feel and SEE my belly move whenever he’s wiggling around in there. It’s still been a great pregnancy, I know its not over yet, but minimal sickness just fatigue, and some joint pain as my body continues to stretch itself to its physical limits. Joy. This week its been a lot of pain at the bottom of my ribcage and the round ligaments. The beard is more epic then ever as it continues its journey. Babies and young children have started to fear the beard, seriously. We went over to our good friends for dinner last night and their 5 year old ran away shrieking “YOUR BEARD IS SCARY!!!!” and their 10 month daughter wouldn’t let him kiss her on the cheek. It was absolutely hilarious!
That’s about all I’ve got for you for now. Bravo to those of you still reading, although something tells me it’s probably just my grandma. HI GRANDMA!! LOVE YOU!! I’ll start working on some much more visually stimulating posts now, just thought I’d check in to let you all know we still exist 😉
SURPRISE PHOTO!!! Brett’s sister, Audrey, took this in Austin at the top of Mt. Bonnell. It’s seriously one of my most favorite pictures ever, and I just had to throw in one picture to bring this little post to life!
The bean&beard are 21 weeks in this lovely picture.
